Calamigos Ranch sits in the Malibu canyon about 15 minutes from PCH. It's not oceanfront, but it makes up for it with waterfalls, mature trees, and multiple ceremony and reception locations across a large, carefully maintained property. The green canopy and natural water features give you depth and texture that stark ocean views can't replicate.
What to know: This is a popular venue — multiple weddings can happen on the same day. Confirm your photographer has shot here before and knows the logistics.
Malibu Rocky Oaks
Best for: Couples who want the most dramatic views in Malibu wine country.
Rocky Oaks is a vineyard estate perched above the ocean with a view that stretches to Catalina on clear days. The ceremony circle surrounded by oak trees is one of the most beautiful ceremony settings we've ever filmed. Intimate, private, and visually stunning.
What to know: This is a smaller venue with capacity limits. The vineyard aesthetic reads beautifully in still photography but also translates exceptionally well to video. Golden hour here is unmatchable.
Malibu Solstice Vineyards
Best for: Intimate weddings with a relaxed California wine country feel.
Solstice sits in the hills off Mulholland and offers a quieter, more intimate setting than Rocky Oaks. The views are beautiful; the property is smaller and more relaxed. This is a venue where the photography feels less formal and more personal.
Triunfo Creek Vineyards
Best for: Couples who want a modern, clean venue in the canyon.
Newer than most Malibu venues, Triunfo Creek has a more architectural feel — clean lines, modern facilities, and excellent lighting in the main hall. The surrounding hills give you beautiful backdrops for portraits, and the property is well-organized for vendor logistics.
Private PCH Estates
Malibu's most iconic wedding photography location isn't a venue — it's the private cliff estates along PCH. These require knowing the right rental contacts, and they're not available to everyone, but for couples with the budget and lead time, there is nothing more cinematic than getting married on a private bluff above the Pacific.
If you're planning this type of wedding, reach out early. The best properties book 12–18 months in advance, and you'll want a videography team with experience shooting in Malibu specifically.
